Hanbok Experience: Does it Suit Me?

Good news from Myeongdong fans! hahaha *well im one of them since 2010*

you can try wearing Hanbok in M-Plaza, which is located in Myeongdong area. Actually its not a new place in Myeongdong, but its so famous recently since there are so many people going to Korea for a short getaway.
 
Do you know Hanbok?? Hanbok is traditional Korean dress. It is often characterized by vibrant colors and simple lines without pockets.

Rather than embroidery, which was reserved for royal wear, color is the most important element Hanbok is all about color. The color is the design. It's not about what's stuck on it.
These days, Koreans themselves tend to break out the Hanbok only for special occasions such as weddings, funerals, first birthdays and major family gatherings.

If you go to Myeongdong, you can try to wear it for FREE! yes for free!~ you have 15 minutes to go around with pretty Hanbok and the cute accessories. they also provide the photo booth with very nice background. If you go to Myeongdong alone, dont worry. you can ask the staff to help taking pics for you~ they are so nice! ^^

Seoul Global Culture and Tourism Center is located in Myeongdong M-Plaza 5th floor. They have first come-first served service. so, you have to go earlier to do booking first, and they will tell you what time you have to go back to Seoul Global Culture and Tourism Center. While waiting your turn, you can go around Myeongdong for 1-2 hours, and violaaaa your turn will come.

Some staffs there will help you to wear the Hanbok and some accessories such a headband or hairpin. After that, you will be ready to take beautiful pics with beautiful background.

unfortunately it's closed every weekend and public holidays T_T Please make sure you go on the right time.
For the booking time, I recommend you to go before lunch time, because I went there after lunch time twice and its fully booked! T_T

Myeongdong M-Plaza is the black building, right beside Forever 21. There's ZARA on the 1st floor so you will not miss it :)

The Magnificent Palace : Gyeongbokgung

just came back from my byutipulll trip with my sisters and my friends. I hope I can go to Korea again next year..

on the first day, -1 degree Celsius was surprised us a lot! We thought spring will be so warm, but its so cold instead of warm!
after check in, take a shower etc etc etc, we went to Gyeongbokgung!

You can see this kind of view as soon as you go out from Gyeongbokgung Station Exit no. 5.
(and you can see palace-theme-station in Gyeongbokgung Station, its so beautiful)

Gyeongbokgung Palace is also commonly referred to as the “Northern Palace” because its location is furthest north when compared to the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyeongheegung (Western Palace).
 Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful and remains the largest of all five palaces.

The interesting thing, you can try to wear Gate Guard uniform for free! they have limited time in a day for this one. So you can check below picture for your reference.

Unfortunately, when we were there its going to be closed soon, so only 2 of us were allowed to try the costume T_T huhuhu i will go there again next time for trying it

If you want your visit being memorable, try to visit when they have royal guard changing ceremony.
Please note this daily schedule, and make sure you come like 10 minutes before.

Sumunjang (Royal Guard) Changing Ceremony:
10:00, 13:00, 15:00 / three times a day / 20 minutes per ceremony

Gwanghwamun Gate Guard-on-Duty Performance:
11:00, 14:00, 16:00 / three times a day / 10 minutes per ceremony

The Royal Guard-Changing Ceremony is a great opportunity to experience a rare traditional scene in Korea. Be sure to bring a camera to take lots of pictures. The guards’ splendid costumes, with their brilliant primary colors, are a real pleasure to see.

Last but not least, you can take picture with the real gate guard after the ceremony finished. We decided to take some of pics with them

unfortunately because of tight schedule, we didn't go inside the Palace. My sisters and I have been there before, so we just skipped for going inside. The admission fee is about 3000 won for each person.

and DO NOT COME on Monday, since it's closed every Monday.

Trying Korean Street Food is an Absolute Must!

sorry for super late posting. I've been so busy recently. and I was super lazy to do blogging last week

since 2 hours left to my lunch time, im going to post about food! I love eating eating eating so much. something goes wrong i guess, because my weight is only 41kg =.="

Do u know about street food?

Street food is usually ready-to-eat food or drink sold in a street or other public place, such as a market or fair, by a hawker or vendor, often from a portable stall.
Trying street food whenever you have overseas trip should be in your to-do-list. each country has their own unique taste, so you should try it.

In this post, I will introduce some of Korean street foods which are always being my favorite.

Hotteok. Its delicious pancake with filling such as peanut or honey etc etc etc.

In Busan, there's famous Hotteok that usually be appeared in many Korean dramas. It's located in Busan International Film Festival street. You can easily find this stall since you will find a very long queue in front of it.
The price is so cheap. only 1000 won!

My friend, Devy really really really like eating Hotteok. One day we went to Myeongdong, Seoul to have Hotteok, and she bought so many Hotteok. "I'll skip my dinner tonight. Lets have Hotteok for our dinner, eh?"
For me, I like Honey Hotteok more than peanut Hotteok

The second is 핫바. Its pronounced as "Hatba".. Actually this is from English word "Hotbar". 핫바 is the Korean style of Hotdog..
There's so many kinds of Hot Bar, such as squid, cheese, tteok, chilli and many more. The price is around 2000~2500 won.

Next is the Twisted Potato Chip. It is a sliced, twisted and swirled potato that is deep fried and then coated in a cheese flavored salt. Crunchy and delicious. The price is 2000 won. Eating this in winter season really makes your body warm. but you have to eat that as soon as buying it because it will get cold easily.

Fly to the Sky with Sky Lift in Seoul Grand Park

Seoul Grand Park is one of famous place in Seoul. It has so many attractions, like amusement park, zoo, botanical carden, camping site, etc etc etc.

It's been a year since my last year trip to Seoul Zoo.
I've tried to go there with Yudra, Wongso and Stefanny who had summer school in Inha university last year.

After finishing our lunch in KFC (my first time spending so much money for buying KFC. KFC in Seoul is much much much expensive than in Indonesia), we went to Seoul Zoo.

 The Zoo is quite far from the main gate. You can go there by bus or by sky lift . If you want to take a bus, you should pay 1000 won for each person.

Since sky lift looked more interesting, so we chose to ride it.
The price is 5000 won for 1 person. We bought 4 tickets. Yudra and I were in first cable car while Stefanny and Wongso were in the next one after us.
It's so funny when I looked back and found Wongso's frozen pose riding the sky lift.

Its so interesting! I mean, I've ever tried riding this kind of thing in Genting, Malaysia. and that's 1000 times scarier than this one! I swear.

We can see the beautiful scenery from the sky lift. Seoul Grand Park is so big! You cant visit all of them in one day trip.

After around 15 minutes of ride, we arrived in Seoul Zoo.

ah, one thing! If you ever watched 4men Music Video "Thank You", you might know this scene? Yes its in skylifter in Seoul Grand Park! ^^
